Help Wanted!? Cannabis Petitions 2010
Cannabis Local Petition Drive 2010
Well folks, the idea here is to take advantage of the internet and the high level of social networking in contemporary society, to usher change from the bottom up. I have personally signed petitions that are located at many internet petition sites for many causes. Many of these sites allow for anyone to start a new petition, and today I almost did. But, the one I wanted to create should be available for every community in the country. Which means that it has to be written somewhat generic.
What I want, usually far from what is, is for one local petition to be started for every area that is linked to State petitions and integrated into a larger Federal petition.
The general idea is that if I sign a petition to make Marijuana the lowest priority for law enforcement and the courts in Saratoga Springs, NY, My signature will automatically be added to the petition to make Marijuana the lowest priority for law enforcement and the courts in Saratoga County, NY. My signature should also apply to a New York State petition, and, of course, then to the federal petition.
Use of technology: The potential of technology to integrate information directly in secure ways, and the overwhelming "viral" effects of the internet provide the perfect platform for Petition integration and promotion. By linking all of these local petitions directly to all the others, somebody should be able to sign any petition on the ladder and be added to all that apply to that signor. If I sign the national petition, my signature should be added to the Saratoga Springs petition automatically. In my dreams, if the Saratoga petition does not exist yet, it will automatically be created and all future local signors of any associated petition will be added. Technology offers more elaborate possibilities also, that are also far beyond my abilities. It is not hard to imagine that with a system as I have described, that each automatically created petition could be Automatically forwarded to the right places when it meets it's goal. So, it would be even better if that goal could be set to a significant number of signors automatically as the petition is created. This could be done by population: The federal petition can be set to be delivered at 10% of the population (if 10% would be considered significant), as new petitions are created based on signors of the federal petitions locations, the system could acquire applicable population information from the internet, and set each goal accordingly. A New York City petition will need more signatures than a Saratoga Springs petition to be considered "significant", so this is an important feature.
Another benefit of linking all the petitions is strictly internet related. Search engines calculate how many other sites link to any one site in determining ranking and popularity. This whole idea is based on available technology being used most efficiently toward our cause.
If you know how to create this, or can help to write the founding petition Please get a hold of me.
Thank you all for your time, consideration and possibly interest.
