According to The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA)  almost anybody can start a legal credit union, which for those of you who don't know, is a non-profit privately owned "bank" in which all members (depositors) own shares and get a vote on the Credit Unions Business. All deposits are still insured up to $250K and we can get better interest earnings. Not to mention the sizeable sum of money that can be pointed to in the name of reforming the laws we have today regarding Marijuana or Cannabis if you prefer. 

    The law regarding credit unions establishes that we will have to define the breadth of membership eligibility and how all members are affiliated or associated. Though credit unions have traditionally been rather small in the banking world, the internet provides for a whole new application of the Credit union format of banking. Credit unions can be set up based on geography or association in some way. Also according to the NCUA, it will cost less than $300K to get one started. So what if 1000 of us put up $100 each as a donation to start this new bank? That's $1,000,000 to start it off strong, and you can commit to being a part of this for as little as $1 if that is what you can afford.

    I have set up a campaign where you can join anonymously and nobody will pay anything, or be known to anybody else, until we have the full sum of $1M in absolute pledged donations. You simply join saying that if we hit the goal your card will, be charged then, but only when and if we hit the goal. PLEASE CLICK HERE TO HELP.

    You can simply pledge to open a new account with a deposit of at least $100 when and if we get this credit union going by going to this link AND BECOMING A PLEDGED MEMBER FOR FREE. You can also do this anonymously and nobody will know who you are until we open our own private bank. This is an extremely important part of the process here. More people will donate to help start the first national bank of Marijuana, oops the First National Federal Credit Union of Marijuana, if they can see that people like you and me will use it for at least part of our banking.

    One huge benefit to such a "bank" is that it will unite the money of all those who believe in any kind of cannabis law reform. It will not be divided by personal battles or differences of opinion between organizations, or select membership of any particular organization. It will unify our money into one vast cash representation of our financial strength in this country.

    One centralizing factor in the chaotic world of causes and beliefs that often end up in disputes over minute differences in which nothing really gets accomplished. My initial goal is to accumulate $1M to create the credit union and recruit the proper talent, and $100M in pledged deposits to convince the donors and the talent that we are serious and worthwhile.
